The newest addition to my homelab project is Uptime Kuma, an uptime monitor I’m using to monitor websites and some of the services running in my home lab. It comes with a wide range of monitoring types and notification destinations.
Right now I’m using Telegram for notifications since it was free.
I’ll likely set up SMTP as 2nd notification method, or maybe an HTTP webhook somewhere outside.
The only downside to this monitor is that it’s running in my home. If the internet goes down, I won’t receive the notification. I’m going to set up a separate monitor outside that alerts me if the home connection, or the lab, is down.
