I’ve been waiting to be able to write about this. The first ever WordCamp Canada was announced today. A small group of long-time Canadian WordPressers (including myself) have been working behind the scenes to make this happen.
This two day event for WordPress enthusiasts will take place in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, Ontario, on July 12th and 13th, 2024. There will also be a Contributor Day on July 11th, where participants can help give back to the WordPress project. The Camp and Contributor Day are happening at the Infinity Convention Centre, located near Ottawa’s MacDonald Cartier International Airport.
There have been a number of excellent WordCamps in Canada over the years, in cities including: Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Halifax, Calgary, Niagara, Hamilton, and Winnipeg. WordCamp Canada 2024 is an attempt to bring many of geographically separated communities together. After all, why should WordCamp US get all the fun?
